News: Request: FS-SC to have r-access to GPFS

• Request: FS-SC members to have r-access or rw-acces to GPFS.

  Possible implementation: create two groups filled with FS-SC members, one group for ro, the other for rw, for all beamtimes, for commissioning folders.

  Current status: beamtime leader, beamtime applicant, BL manager and BL scientist may use the gamma portal to add users (who have DESY accounts) to a beamtime.

• Debian PaN "Photon and Neutrons" packaging initiative, proposal from Soleil
  • organize debian packaging for PaN-relevant software
  • make a list of applications requested by the scientists
  • discuss the packaging priority with partners (or do it yourself) my understanding is that this process is not completely settled yet.
  • make the packages available in a public repo
  • packaging price: about 1 kEUR per application

  • Benefits: share the expenses among partners, make useful software visible in the field, outsource debian packaging
