- Some PCs have extra ethernet cards. Their main purpose is to serve to GigE cameras to reduce the
traffic on the DESY network. To optimize camera data transfer the MTU (maximum transfer unit) of these
interfaces may be enlarged.
- It is possible to connect a switch that serves multiple cameras to this interface. FS-EC should purchase the switch.
- These switches should be reserved for GigE cameras. Other devices may be confused by the large MTU and may
interfere with the cameras. Such devices should be connected to the DESY network.
- Do not connect configurable PCs to the private network interface.
