IT Infos, Eiger, Proxy hosts

• Eiger (Manuela Kuhn, Jan Garrevoet): running at 500 Hz sustained rate, compressed 31 MB, uncompressed 4GB, Proxy node in the computer center, protocol: http, hdf files. Balance: high compression factor reduces detector output, low compression factor heavily utilizes the buffer.

  Integration: data acquisition control via Tango. However, Tango should not be installed on computer center hardware (CentOS). Communication via Python Server-Client.

• Detector proxy nodes: purchasing new detectors cost for new proxy nodes, located in the computer center, have to be taken into account, about 9 kEUR

• Portal: download via ftp only, questions and comments to Julia and Andre.
