Data Migration

Data associated with a Beamtime Application ID can be migrated to dCache. Currently, application IDs are created for beamtimes at PETRA III as well as DORIS III^1.2. The same procedure will also hold for the upcoming PETRA III Extension beamlines.

The data migration process implies some preparation / rules to take into account which are mentioned in the following. In particular, the migration can only be done from selected work group servers which can be accessed by beamline staff using their DESY accounts. Hence, data taken at DESY beamlines (i.e. data from the OnlineFS) has to be migrated by beamline staff who are responsible for/ have to have an eye on their respective buffer storage usage.
