symbol

Format:

symb*ol(scan_id, text_expr symbol) = text_expr value

Description:

This function creates a symbol in the slot that is specified by the scan_id. It normally used before a file is written in the FIO format (see section 15.3.57).

e.g.:

SPECTRA> symbol(bpu1, test_symbol) = 12
