Sardana has the concept of the measurement group which contains the devices to be used in a measurement and also related parameters, e.g. whether the output of a device is displayed during the measurement. A measurement group can be defined at run time, e.g. with the nxselector GUI or the change_mg macro, or during the configuration of the Pool and the Macroserver. In this case the information is taken from /online_dir/online.xml. This typically contains several pre-defined measurement groups.
