Compensation value routine for angle encoder with AWE 1024
evaluation electronics (provided by Martin v. Zimmermann):
- Enter encoder menu: ONLINE
gpib/awe 1
- Check the status of the encoder, enter awe command: a0x.
The status should be 11002, with
- 0/1 compensation no/yes
- 0/1 reference signal no/yes

- If the encoder has no reference signal, move across the reference
mark located at 0 on the hardware scale:
- Enter awe command: r1x
- Perform a full turn of the goniometer
- If the encoder has no compensation, perform the compensation routine
- Enter awe command: c1x
- Ignore error messages
- poll byte c0: start rotating forward (clockwise), two times across
the reference mark,
the rotation velocity needs to be between 2.5 and 5.8 turns/min
use an electric drill together with a belt to assure the right
rotation velocity.
- poll byte c1: start rotating backwards, two times across the
reference mark
- poll byte c2: compensation run finished
- poll byte c3: rotation speed out of range
- Set the encoder to zero: enter awe command: c2
