Transferring single files from Windows

  1. Download and install WinSCP from http://winscp.net or download the portable version

  2. Start WinSCP

  3. Click the "Advanced options" box, in the Advanced settings select ''Tunnel''

  4. Check the box ''Connect through SSH tunnel'' and make the following entries, as username select the appropriate beamtime account

  5. Select ''Sessions'' and enter the following

  6. It is recommended to save the settings, for easier use next time

  7. Once the session settings have been saved, click ''Login''

  8. You have to accept the two ssh-keys and provide the password twice, one for the tunnel the other one for the data server itself.

  9. After you have successfully been connected, you have to navigate to the appropriate directory. First you have to go to the root directory and then navigate to /pnfs/desy.de/petra3/disk/users/$<$BeamtimeID$>$

  10. Copy your data.
